چکیده

We study perpetual American option pricing problems in an extension of the BlackMerton-Scholes model in which the dividend and volatility rates of the underlying risky asset depend on the running values of its maximum and maximum drawdown. The optimal exercise times are shown to be the first times at which the underlying asset hits certain boundaries depending on the running values of the associated maximum and maximum drawdown processes. We obtain closed-form solutions to the equivalent free-boundary problems for the value functions with smooth fit at the optimal stopping boundaries and normal reflection at the edges of the state space of the resulting three-dimensional Markov process. The optimal exercise boundaries for the perpetual American options on the maximum of the market depth with fixed and floating strikes are determined as the minimal solutions of certain first-order nonlinear ordinary differential equations.

Processes of Class Sigma, Last Passage Times, and Drawdowns

We propose a general framework for studying last passage times, suprema and drawdowns of a large class of continuous-time stochastic processes. Our approach is based on processes of class Sigma and the more general concept of two processes, one of which moves only when the other is at the origin. After investigating certain transformations of such processes and their convergence properties, we ...

Discounted optimal stopping for maxima of some jump-diffusion processes∗

We present closed form solutions to some discounted optimal stopping problems for the maximum process in a model driven by a Brownian motion and a compound Poisson process with exponential jumps. The method of proof is based on reducing the initial problems to integro-differential freeboundary problems where the normal reflection and smooth fit may break down and the latter then be replaced by ...

Option Pricing Under a Double Exponential Jump Diffusion Model

Analytical tractability is one of the challenges faced by many alternative models that try to generalize the Black-Scholes option pricing model to incorporate more empirical features. The aim of this paper is to extend the analytical tractability of the BlackScholes model to alternative models with jumps. We demonstrate a double exponential jump diffusion model can lead to an analytic approxima...

Optimal stopping and perpetual options for Lévy processes

Consider a model of a financial market with a stock driven by a Lévy process and constant interest rate. A closed formula for prices of perpetual American call options in terms of the overall supremum of the Lévy process, and a corresponding closed formula for perpetual American put options involving the infimum of the after-mentioned process are obtained. As a direct application of the previou...

Perpetual barrier options in jump-diffusion models∗

We present a closed form solution to the perpetual American double barrier call option problem in a model driven by a Brownian motion and a compound Poisson process with exponential jumps. The method of proof is based on reducing the initial irregular optimal stopping problem to an integro-differential free-boundary problem and solving the latter by using continuous and smooth fit. The obtained...
